Can anyone explain to me what Veeam Enterprise Manager is used for? I can't find much info about it on Veeam's website. Seems to be just a web interface for Backup and Replication?
 
Last place i worked had Veeam its a 3rd party app that install on a VM or standalone box that connects to ESX/ESXi and backup your VM's to a server/nas/san on your network. Almost all of the features in Veeam tho are built into ESX/ESXi you just need the proper licences key for them.
 
We already own Veeam and utilize it for backups. It's just that I've noticed they have something called Enterprise Manager that comes with their Backup and Replication product. I was curious what Enterprise Manager does.
 
Used if you have multiple Veeam backup servers and want a single monitoring/management view.
 
Yeah, which I don't understand with Veeam 6, they sort of made it so you could consolidate to one central Veeam server and just use your old ones as proxy boxes. Although you still need Enterprise Manager to do some of the recovery stuff, such as sandbox.
