It's a vdi solution from Citrix that's selling point is that you dont need a complicated infrastructure to do VDI. It takes about an hour to setup including the baseimage. It works with local storage and you simply add more hosts to scale. Licensing is cheaper as well. Anyone deployed this yet?
 
kaviza may be the name others are familiar with.

I plan to take a look later .... Too busy learning and preparing for certs.
 
It's a pretty good product for what it's meant to do. Extending it beyond it's means, you're asking for disaster. I would deploy this product in an environment with less than 100 users and where the majority of the desktops are kiosk type.

It's definitely suited and positioned for SB vs Enterprise
 
Kaviza is pretty slick from what I've seen. We just rolled it out over the summer at one of the school districts my company manages. There were some hiccups at first mostly related to the thin client software we were using but their support is great and they worked incredibly close with us as this was their largest deployment to date ~1,500 machines.

I haven't had too much hands on with it at this point as I'm not the Engineer that's delegated to that particular district but I've seen it in action, done a bit of management and understand it's innterworkings .

It's definitely a simpler and more cost effective solution then XEN but it just doesn't own as hard. :p
 
We are looking at deploying VDI in a box at work. We are testing it with a Wyse Zenith thin client and a Hyper-V server for the VM's. So far it is working very well and we really like it.
Depending on how further trials go and on licensing cost we are looking to deploy around a hundred thin clients to replace a lot of our aging computers.
