I've been overclocking my new opteron 165 and i've hit a wall at 2.55 Ghz. When I tried upping the voltage to 1.37 from 1.35 my motherboard kinda...well died. Wouldn't post or boot or even output anything to the screen, it was just black. Removing the battery for a half hour fixed it and i could boot again, but I was freaking out for awhile lol. Anyway, any ideas why upping the voltage is causing such a fuss? I did it with my old 3700 san diego and had no problems. It was at 1.52 I believe. It could be that my opty just cant take any volt increase, which is rather disappointing, but I was hoping someone had another idea. thanks.

Relevent info: Asus A8N-SLI deluxe, opty 165, corsair HX620

Hmm, now the question is if the problem was a 1 time fluke or if it's reproducible... lol...

Personally I would try upping the voltage again.. perhaps to 1.45volts. Of course, I won't take any responsibility for any damages but that is what I would do if I were in your situation :D
