As the STICKY on the AMD cpu forum (Amd specification thread) it says that AMD XP`s
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Core: Barton
Socket: Socket A
Operating Frequency: 2.08GHz
FSB: 333MHz
Cache: L1/64K+64K; L2/512K
Voltage: 1.5V
Wattage: 55W
Process: 0.13Micron

Vcore is supposed to be 1.5v.
IN my Bios (Via Kt6V-LSR) mobo its says default bios is 1.65v , I got the volcano 9 hsf and i think thats why my temp are high (51c right now)

When i lower it to 1.5v, it wont boot up to windows, only at 1.55 , Is there any explanation to that?

And to oveclock it, my goal os 2.2ghz (3200+ speeds) should i lower the default Multi to 10 and raise the default 166mhz fsb to 200mhz Or i should simply keep the same multi (12.5x default) and raise it to 176mhz (my ram ram is a mix of 2 512mb stick of del-ol cheapy Samsung ram and Nanya^!)

Thank you!

Then the sticky is wrong. Go here:
http://techreport.com/cpu/

Go down to the 2800+ and you will notice it is correctly listed as 1.65Vcore. In fact, all Barton cores are 1.65 unless you are talking about a Mobile XP-M (which you don't have).

Thanks!

Great so i am happy to see that i can boot with 1.55!

i just re-verified and again i think there is a wrong info there.

Athlon XP 3200+ 128k L1cache 512L2 cache

My L1 cache is only 64k but my L2 is 512 though...

Im back in windows now, im happy eheh, well i wanted to run 1:1 memory fsb ratio but unfortunatly i dont know why but when i lowered the multi down to 11 (default 12.5) and raised the fsb from 166 to 180, it wouldnt post at all and i had to clear the CMOS with the jumper..... my temps right now are not that bad i mean 49c.....

Right now i am at 173 x 12.5 = 1162mhz so im not too far from my goal, and still with undervoltage....

Is there any idea why it wont post at 11x180? (oops now i realise that maybe it was because i forgot to raise the vcore up to 1.65 ( it was lowered to 1.55) well for tonight i will leave with the default multi and try to reach 2.2ghz, But if someone can help me with the rest ill be pleased!

Easily Reached 2200mhz with 176x12.5 (but still not 1:1 with ram) i had to up the vcore to Default 1.65 because would crash while booting or while opening programs with lower voltages (tried 1.5 up to 1.625)

Now the question is. Do i continue to go UP and raise the vcore safely 0.025 each time ?

Yes ill try!

My temps are 50c idle

oh and BTW, when i boot up it really says: AMD XP 3200+ (thats cool ehhe)

nah after fiew thoughts i remember that this board doesnt have AGP/PCI lock so im currently overclocking everything and i dont want to fry this system i bought for my little brother (but i have a lot of fun with it trying to OC it ahha)
