In about two months, I'm going to purchase vSphere Standard and setup a 2 node environment. Since Technet is going away I was wondering how people are setting up vCenter? I really don't want to re-install Win Srv / vCenter ever six months. I'm looking for ideas so I can just set this up once.

I currently have a just expired Technet license for my servers but I don't expect them to say activated since Technet is going away.
 
You have two options with vCenter Server, a Windows deployment model or the SUSE based VM appliance - personally I have used both and the VM appliance is actually very good depending on VM farm size (clearly it doesn't fit FT requirements so you have to rely on HA to cold boot it if you lose the primary hypervisor and you are clustered), however your license does not cover this; but you should have access to the trial version?
 
And how stable and fast is vCSA now ? I tested it some time ago when 5.0 was used and i was not peased with it - windows version worked just better.
 
The 5.1 vCSA isn't bad. The 5.5 is better/faster. Should see 5.5 next week. Word is the 19th.
