My radeon 9700 with Zalman heatpipe is suddenly getting really poor fps and the temps on it are about 53 celcius :/ My fan filters are pretty badly clogged, do you think thats all that's doing it? Or i need to try replacing thermal paste or something? I have like 8 fans so thats not problem, just clogged.

if you know your fan filters are clogged, why not try unclogging them first?

Whata re you abient temps? Also what kind of thermal paste did you use? If you use too much of the Artic Silver 3 and 5, it acts like an insulator. Also unclog the fans! I usually just wash them out in the kitchen sink.

I must apologize in advance, but that's pathetic. You see the reason, yet you post and say you didn't want to bother because it required effort. Do you even deserve your own computer?

Well it wasnt much of the problem, under load i'm still getting about 47 with the door off... any suggestions? Maybe its where I have the temp sensor whcih is sitting on bottom half of Zalman heatpipe sandwhich

I used the paste that came with the Zalman, it wasnt Arctic Silver. Door off, non load getting 40 celius... concern?
