God damnit, just look at the review. What a piece of junk. I love the way at the end the reviewer says: These should be on everybody's shopping list. WTF?

I can't trust anyone's reviews anymore, they are basically just ads for the product. I mean, come on, plastic protectors for the ram and pci slots? Dude, that is just about the most worthless product I have ever seen. It's so sad these days that you have to read 3-4 reviews of a product before you even know if its good or not due to the companies buying the reviewers off.

Shame on the reviews (and not just this one) for misleading people and caving in to the pressure of a little extra cash. It will come back to haunt them the end, though.

This would only be worth it if you had UV light in your case cause then they would glow otherwise they are ugly and not worth it.
 
The idea is great, but I think their design is WAY too bulky for my tastes. Now if they had covers that were small and thin, actually went into the slots, and were made of a higher quality material - I might go for them.

I'm looking at them more from a cosmetic point of view. I know they don't actually DO anything. Hell, how much dust could really get into those slots that can't just be blown out?

I have an all-acrylic case, and thought these would look pretty cool in the empty slots to cover the standard white PCI slots.

I didn't even realize they were UV reactive.

But yeah, I totally agree with everyone saying they are worhtless...as far as function is concerned.
 
Well in all honesty for cosmetic purposes they're ok...the pci covers look like crap tho...the ram slot covers fit well and aren't bulky as hell like the pci slot covers.
 
the sad thing is i know people will buy that crap and say "OMG my case is so 1337!!!!111"
 
I think they'd look pretty damn nice inside a clear case for being UV reactive...but I agree with all of you that they look like ass.
 
Vantec sends us their PR whenever they release a new product. While they do have some decent stuff, when I saw this, I died a little inside.

Just my opinion though.
 
About the only kind of person who would have a valid reason to use this crap, is someone who never bothers to clean the dust bunnies out from the inside of thier rig, but there are none of those types of individuals in this forum...right?? ;)

1337, is another way of spelling "leet" or elite. I think that's what it is....
 
And yes, I agree that if the covers were fit much better and weren't as bulky and came in nicer, classier colors, it would be a pretty okay product.

Well I thought this was taken care of, as it was a misunderstanding, but let's drift off topic one last time. I could care less about what you think of me. I'm not about to argue with someone who exists somewhere out there named "ErrOnReq." If you've read my posts over the past FOUR years, you will notice I try to keep upbeat. However after browsing other forums, this one has seemed to get more harsh over time. Maybe it's the "Hard"ness that everyone trys to convey, but answering a simple question shouldn't be made so diffcult. However, it WAS a misunderstanding and I was hoping that this would just be forgetten. Oh well....
 
I think the PCI slot covers actually DO insert into the slots, as well as covering them from the outside. The idea is not bad per se, but the PCI covers *are* a bit bulky. If they were a little more streamlined, similar to the RAM inserts, they would be better.

Companies have to remember that there is a difference between people who buy lots of accessories for their Honda Civics and people who mod their cases. In general, we don't go for the gaudy, garish, over-the-top super-wing spoiler kind of stuff. It has to be.....classy, I guess. Elegant--simple, attractive, gets the job done.

Of course, I may have just flamebaited someone unintentionally....
 
I wonder if there are USB port covers? Those would be truely helpful, especially for front USB ports. They get dusty as hell.

these are a decent idea to fit a color scheme you may have or whatnot, but they look like ass....think I'll make some of my own in a bit more classy way...

Well come on, there are some things they make for Civics that would offend anybody. As I was saying, maybe some nice, discreet black covers to give that "blacked out" look, or real carbon fiber or some shit like that. I don't know, I think they ought make some more daring products, like a motorized 5" lcd or something.

I don't think so, but to each his own.

If the style and design was played out a little better, it might be a nifty gimmick. That is, of course, if it was cheap as well.
 
This would not be a problem if we were all good boys and girls (wait, girls?) and had dust filters on our air intakes.
