If you check www.vantecusa.com you can see the new ICEBERQ 5 that works with Nvidia and ATI's latest offerings. I am wondering if anyone has gotten their hands on one yet? Can't seem to find one anywhere online. Maybe they are not out yet. Thanks!

Already edited before your message, and if you check the link, you will see that it says it supports the Radeon X-Series cards.

and i dont like using my stock coolers and wearing them out for when i sell my card...

Yeah I am excited too because the PDF document on their website makes it look like it might fit in a Shuttle XPC! But there is not release date on theri website and I literally searched 20 vendor websites and it is not even listed!

That cooler is only good for last gens cards. Example, 9800Pro, 9700, 9600, 5900, 5700 etc... Those wont be efficent to cool newer cards

This product is available, Directron has it under another name which is "Logisys CF206". Which is infact a Jetart JASCH1, they are all the same product. It's $19.99, not bad. What I would like to see is a comprehensive review comparing the NV Silencer 5, The Zalman vf700-CU and this cooler, the Jetart JASCH1.

Well, this product was originally created by Jetart, but they ran into problems finding US distributers. They are all identical, though the Vantec looks to have a slightly different fan guard design wise. Buying the Logisys CF206 *is* buying the Vantec or Jetart really.

Yeah but the difference is that the Logisys and Jeart models have a 3500 RPM fan and much louder than the 2500 quoted speed by Vantec. I think I'll wait for the Vantec model itself to come out.

I still don't have a good idea if it will fit in a Shuttle XPC yet either. :(
 
that cooler that doesnt look like it has enough muscle/enough copper to take on the big boys like x800series or the 6800series.. it might be a effecient cooler for the low end card but i highly doubt it will be much of an improvent over a stock 6800series or x800series cooler.

i dont see it as a replacment... i see it as a 1 slot solution so u dont wear out ur stock fan....
 
Awesome, I'm glad I haven't got an Iceberq 4 for my newest 9800Pro. However with the raised portion it might not fit in a Shuttle. And it doesn't look like the base will even cover the whole GPU.

why not just use an IceberQ 4?

I am glad they chose to include 8 ramsinks instead of the 4 that they include on the older coolers!
I was looking at possibly gettting the new Zalman cooler for my 6600GT but it would really stick up above the card sense mine is a AGP card. Wonder how this will fit the AGP 6600GTs?
 
I seriously doubt that thing has enough juice to cool a 6800GT, let alone a 6800 Ultra. Maybe it would work if you like to UNDERclock your hardware!

Although this one does look nice. And YES, it WILL cool anything out there. This already exists under another brand and people have been using it for a while, not sure if vantec stole it or actually licensed it.
 
I installed the iceberg4 on my 9800 pro and did not like the results. I could oc it to XT speeds with the stock cooler, after the change I would get artifacting at those speeds.

Edit: That wasn't helpful, but I never liked the Icreberq.. but seriously if your strapped for space and want good cooling, give some watercooling a try :D Some of them a pretty compact and perform quietly and more efficiently than these coolers.

pff the zalman cooler is a pos... the other zalam heatsink/pipeline cooler beats the 700-cu

And you would know this how? Compare installing the VF-700-CU to the ZM-80C/D
then come back to me with your opinion.

When looking for reviews, look for the Jetart brand name instead of the Vantec one.

I found a few, it dramatically decreased most of the test cards temps.. The thing I'm looking for though is if it could cool my 9800pro modded to XT card. couldnt find reviews on that.

Just a little tidbit and correct me if I am wrong. The newer cards x800 6800/gt/ultra I think are cooler than the old ones like 9800pro/XT, because of the lower .micron manufacturing processes... Less powere = Less Heat.

Therefore if this is good enough for the older cards, then I'd be super for the new ones right? :)

Sorry to bust your balls guys, but it seems the Jetart beats The silencers or at least on Par. :) and I am happy about it! :)

NOTE: Jetart is exactly the same as Vantec Iceberq 5

Compare the 9800XT temps of the ATI silencer Rev3 to Jetart slapped into the 9800pro
I am actually assuming that the pro has the r360 core because the temps are almost the same.

the XT puts out ALOT more heat then the pro... i would hope the XT is hotter..
 
If the card has the R360 core, then it practically is an XT in terms of heat and some features. :)
 
Just a little more update you guys might find useful.

I know I dont have the best clocking 9800pro out there but with my new Jetart cooler, I went to 450core 390mem artifact free, I used to be able to do only 438core 385mem with The old zalman ramsinks and the TT crystal orb. :)

I used the pain method to test the difference between the 2 coolers, although subjective, the heat with the Jetart does not really hurt me anymore compared to the Crystal orb. But it still does get warm to the touch, I expect it is about 60degrees celcius at load. A very good jump from the 80 up I know I used to have. :)

20 degrees is nothing to scoff at.

This thing is so easy to install too. :)
 
The cooler will not fit in a Shuttle. Between the PCB and the inner Aluminum case wall there is about 17mm. I think this cooler is 31.7mm deep...

Still looking for a one slot aftermarket fan for my superloud BFG 6600GT AGP.
