Vantec Multifunction Panel gone wild!

My Vantec front panel has been ok with the 80mm tornado on it for some time, but as of late the speed fluctuates and i can hear an audible difference when I watch the rpms go up and down on the lcd display. I had spliced wires so that i could use a vantec tornado with this panel. Could the fluctuation be caused by a loose wire maybe? Or maybe the fan is going, or the panel? Any ideas?

sounds like the rheo in the panel might be going..... that is what happened to my pctoys panel when I had 2 120mm ystech fans on it.... then i caught fire just keep an eye on it but I would definately try and figure something else out to use besides the panel especially if it is acting funny....
