is an asus P4P-800VM and a pentium 4 2.6 800mhz a good combo?
i can get it at good prices
Is true that the 865 chipset performs slower with prescott processors than with a northwood one?

it's true that the prescott CPUs are slower than the northwoods

i will use it mostly to render videos via adobe premiere.
So, my question is:
which processor is better with that motherboard, an P4 2.6 533mhz fsb (nortwood) or a P4 2.6 800mhz fsb (prescott) for video rendering, obviously using ddr-sdram in dual channel mode?

I would say the prescott is the better one for rendering . Because he has a 1MB L2-Cache. If It be wrongly plz write it ;)

yes, but i saw in a lot of places that the p2,6C is better than the prescott, because of the 800mhz bus.

so, is the 2.6C 512kb cache 800mhz FSB a good choice over the 2.4 1MB 533?
