Well I have been out of gaming for years now. Been too BZ designing and CADing...

But I finally was able to pick up a nice upgrade from work. replacing my Quadro FX 380.

With a Mint
AMD FirePro 3D V5800
I threw some mild games at it and it seems to take it like a charm.

But i am curious on what it equals to nowadays with the 6770 7770 7750 series ?

Yes i know it's it not a gaming card but "Money saving fool" will not turn down a free GPU.

Just wanted to see how far i can push new games on this card.

From what I can gather, I believe this would be a tad bit slower (~5%) then a 6770..They have the same number of stream processors (800), but the 6770 has more memory bandwidth (68GB/sec vs ~76GB/sec) and likely a higher clocked core..They are awesome budget CAD cards though..I picked up one about year ago that was "B stock" but was actually brand new for ~$50..

Sweet,.. so I will be able to throw some mediocre games at it and play them =)
And some high end ones on medium setting, while still being able to work with my CAD applications =)
