V1000 owners, speaker plug?

I am working on a recently purchased Lian Li v1000b Plus II. There is a small speaker mounted underneath the drive cages with a 4 pin cable. For some reason I cannot determine if this needs to be plugged into power or a speaker header on my mobo. Any idea?

Mobo is a Intel D975xbx2
 
I have a v600 but same type of speaker, the 4-pin speaker connector should be connected to the speaker port on the motherboard.
 
Thats what I thought but on my D975xbx2 (Bad Axe 2) I cannot seem to find one. There is an onboard speaker but I cannot find the header on the board or documentation. Maybe another Bad Axe 2 user can give an idea where its located if at all.
 
Was looking through the manual and yea looks like there is no speaker header, there's only the onboard speaker.
 
Cool, thanks I thought I was missing something. So it looks like I can remove the speaker completely and just use the onboard speaker. Thanks for your help!!
