I didnt find this in any other topic, so...
I was thinking of purchasing the Lian-Li V1000 with a window and a blowhole shown here in this picture. I am aware at the delicate balance of airflow in this setup, but do you think the blowhole would be benificial in this computer? It doesnt look like it could harm much to give the PCI cards some extra ventilation. Thanks for your feedback: Zombie poster Ubermouser

It may actually do some good. If you were to add another fan as an intake it would give you a positive airflow (if the airflow is balenced now) and should help cut down on dust.

now the important question...have you found a reliable vendor that sells these and actually has them in stock?

the only evidence I see of it being a good case is this one from anandtech:
http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=2040

http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=2040&p=9

CPU temps are all nearly 2C colder, heatsink temperatures are around 6C colder, and ambient temps are all nearly 4C colder. wow.
Comparing the MT-200 and the NXZT Guardian to other cases, We can see that the MT-200 performs better than the P160, Cheming/Chenbro/etc line, I think its a safe bet that this case may actually be worth the money.

I have this case and would say that the blow hole would help. This case is perfect for watercooling if you don't mind losing one drive bay in the bottom (a JR-120 from Dtek fits perfect). I will post picks when all my new watercooling stuff arrives.

Where did you get the case at? I've been looking around and I thought they was still just making preprodction models.

eidt: Whoops roger that :) My pain meds for this kidney stone got me woozy

Its in the middle of the post..

Wow they cool well. I look at my old 12 fanned behemoth of a case and it just doesnt look possible that I can get 5C lower temps down from 38c idle. I got mine with a blowhole, and my graphics card overclock also increased from 450/400 to 465/410 w/o artifacts. The fans are moderately silent, nothing a rheobus cant fix for sleeping, but its quite nice otherwise. It doesnt give you the excuse to turn up the music anymore. I cant hear my raptors anymore, thank god. My PSU temperature is slightly up from 34C to 35C, but its nothing to worry about. I can play games with my processor fan off :)
I'm unhappy with their position of 5.5" bays though, I think its more usefull to have the origional setup. Oh, and no reset button.
Plenty of room for expansion, I believe I could put a decent watercooling setup inside, but thats for later. Oh, and a side fan isnt benificial in this case, temps drop 2C.
My setup:
v1000 case with Panaflow blowhole
P4 at 3.5GHZ 34C(38before)idle, 40-55C(48-65bfore)load, SP94 + smartfan
Asus Radeon 9800xt *max 465/410, 440/390 regular
1024 megabytes *2x 512* dimms of Mushkin Black II ram
Ic7 Max3 motherboard
2x Raptors 36gb
Buggy ass Santa Cruz sound card
Case temp: 30C down from 36C, 28C room temp

I dont think it was worth the amount of money it is right now, around 300 dollars.

Due to the cool yet akward placement of the SK8V's 20 pin main power supply, do you think I'll need a 20 pin extender, to use with this case ?

Excuse me for my cryptic and rushed post before. I'm building a very mean, and slick computer as a work related task.

Specs:
CPU - FX 53 (940 Pin :)
MB Asus SK8V
Thermalright SLK948U w/ panaflo & Zalman Fanmate
Memory - Corsair 3200 LL ECC

HD - Fujitsu 74 GB 15K U320 SCSI
WD 250 GB SE
Adapte U320 Single PCI/PCI-X Scsi Card
NEC 8x Silver DVD Burner

Lian Li V1000 (I'm gonna pull out the Lian Li fans and replace them with 120mm Panaflo's and Fanmates)

What do you think about this system, part of me wanted to wait for the 939 + A8V..

look liek my lian-li the mobo is on the otherside :)

how do you do that!?!

and A. are these going to come in black and B. can you take the wheels off?!

A: Yes, there are black versions.
B: Yes, you can take off the wheels. Simply unscrew them.

Love this case. Would prefer a full-tower version, for some extra room.

Since the case is vented throughout the front panel, any exhaust you have in there should help then temps, with the downside being extra dust coming in. Perhaps you could complement the blowhole with a side panel intake.

Question: How well do the HD's wire to the mobo and psu? It seems like they are kinda far away.

very easy to switch sides just need a dremel.. take the tray out and just take a look u'll see how easy it is

my 18 inch cables that came with the Ic7 Max3 just barely reach.. its stretched pretty thin and its sorta ugly, but they still reach.

Rebuilt my system using the V1000B,,just a few comments.
The Zalman CNPS-7000 fits, but just barely. Several of the fins are either touching the bottom shelf or are within several micron of doing so. I haven't noticed any problem with the fan, no vibration or such so this is probably a non issue, but for a while I didn't think it was going to make it. I had to instrall the fan after installing the mobo, as I couldn't seem to get the mobo in with the fan already inplace, Needed to use 36" IDE (rounded) cables for the HD's. I'm using the racks just behind the fan. The 24" cable was a bit to short but may have worked with drives in the 2nd set of racks. Overall, except for the high cost, I'm happy with the case.

I have a question about these cases:
On the black versions, the inside of the front bottom where the fan is mounted is still silver, and really shows through the mesh. I'm wondering, is this entire piece removable? I don't mean permanently, but enough to be able to paint/anodize it black?
