do UV lights give more of a purplish color, than blue? and in your opinion, would it be better to get a few led fans, and some ccfl's, or save some money, and get UV lights, and paint fans and other stuff?

in my case, when I used blue LED 80 mm fans, the light gave the UV a washed out look that muted the glow on my cabling.

as far as painting fans goes, I picked up a can of the red uv spray paint from frozencpu.com. I like the color, it appears as red (not orange), but I've got it painted on to a black panaflo fan under black light, so your mileage may vary. I had to use several coats and will probably give it a few more when I pull everything apart to paint my drive trays. As it is now, the painted fan is not as bright as the parts that are UV-sensitive to begin with (excluding the yellow uv reactive cabling that came with my mobo). It may turn orange though as more coats go on.
