I stopped using torrents when I discovered usenet.

usenet still a thing?
I thought it is pay based now.
I still get made fun of because I still use eMule, among others.

It's definitely still a thing, far better than torrents. You have to pay for a usenet provider, it's cheap as chips though.

Qbittorrent looks and works very similar to how uTorrent used to.

Qbittorrent seems to be the ideal choice now. I've tried a few others but this is the lightest and fastest.

Usenet's ok, but you gotta pay for accounts and the selection of downloadables isn't nearly as big as what you find in torrents. I had a bad experience with UseNext - nasty outfit that!
