How are your FPS with UT2004 6800 Owners? I was just wondering if it normal to drop into the 30's in 1600X1200 2QXAA 8XAF . Most of the game runs pretty good @ 60+ FPS , I only notice this slowdown in Onslaught mostly Primeval , Torlan or Red Planet . Am I correct in my assumption that this game is CPU limited? I have done a few benchmarks ( Taken from the guide at NV News using Primeval. ) and my results are pretty much the same regardless of settings I choose. Specs are in my sig , 66.00 Drivers , Latest Patch , Using standard D3D Renderer. Thanks

CPU limitations are part of the issue, and Onslaught does impact performance more than other game modes. Although the drop your experiencing sounds a bit high. You might want to check your chipset drivers.

You might also want to monitor thermal conditions on your video card and make sure it isn't throttleing.

I've looked at my system in onslaught and it never dropped into the thirties or even below the 50's at those settings on my machine. Which isn't that far off from yours in terms of power. Although I am using an Intel setup instead.

I have a 3200+ also and usually run around the 40/50's and occasionally dip into the upper 30's when playing onslaught. This is also while playing on the 32 player servers, such as Cain's though.

Thanks for the feedback. Im running the latest Hyperions from VIA on a fresh install of XP with SP2 , Fastwrites are off , AGP Arpeture is at 256 running @ full AGP 8X with Side Band Addressing Enabled. The system is pretty tweaked. Im running all of the latast drivers for my components. I havent checked the temps , but its been pretty cool lately and my card has never went over 80C ( Rthtribl Overnight , mid summer ) but I will give that a look. I mean for all intents and puropses it runs great , never unplayable (Mid to high 30's at the worst ) just thought for a game running an older engine it would perform better. Thanks for the feedback tho , any other suggestions would be greatly appricated.

The lowest I saw it at was 25...but that was with a ton of action onscreen @ 1600x1200 4xAA 8xAF, usually averages 50-60 though. I havnt played regular UT in a while though. Make sure your quality rating in the nv control panel is set to "quality" instead of "high quality". I noticed HQ got me a lot worse FPS than quality, and looks exactly the same ( from what I can see ) I think im CPU bottlenecked though, thats why im getting an A64 system soon :D
