Usual Time for WU?

I have a Compal HGL30 Latop running two F@H Consoles. What should my time be for one WU? What is the usual time for WU? Takes me like a two days or something like that.
 
Depends on the Wu unit. Give me the processor type and speed and your protein number and I can give you an estimate of the time to finish......should be a number like p2411 or something.
 
Currently, my latop is working on Proteins 1808 and 1815.

My desktop which is an OC'd X2 3800+ at 2.7Ghz is folding 1814 and 1809.

Here are my latop specs:

14.1" WXGA "Glossy" LCD l Go 7600 256MB l T2500 2.0Ghz l Arctic Silver 5 l 2,048MB CORSAIR DDR2/667 l 100GB SATA/150 7,200 RPM l Dual Layer DVDRW l 3945 802.11a/b/g
 
lol...TMI. All those Work Units have 100 frames. I think most do now. You should be able to locate the file fahlog.txt in your Folding@home folder. Open it up and find out how long each frame is taking and multiply by 100. That'll give you the time to complete the WU.

you config yours for large packets (allow download of > 5 MB work units)

I want small packets, what's wrong?

It will take 2 days for each WU.

small= regular points low mem usage
large= bonus points (2x) and large mem usage (100+ meg ram)
 
Stolen from another thread, but more relevant here...

If you are looking for actual numbers showing points, time to WU completion, etcetera, then you may be able to find what you want on the fahinfo.org website.

1) Go to this URL: fahinfo.org data by CPU

2) Locate the row showing data for your processor.

3) Under the column Machine Count, click on the number.

4) If it lists more than one machine, select one by clicking on the Machine ID. You'll probably be better off selecting the machine that has turned in the most completed WUs.

5) Scroll down on the page to the section entitled Detailed Work Unit History.

6) Now, locate the Project that you are currently doing. Hopefully, the machine you have selected to view has completed one or more WUs from the same project you are doing. The Work Time shows how long it took the selected machine to complete the WU, and other stats.

This is a roundabout way of getting what you want, and someone else may be able to give you an easier procedure.

Consider adding your machine to the dataset!

So...if someone had it set to not accept large WU's (because they didn't realize there was such a benefit...Mmm bonus points) and wanted to change that setting without losing the current WU in progress, how would one do that?

Hypothetically speaking of course...

Rom- stop service. start>run>c:\where ever\console.exe -config

when asks want to receive > 5mb download say yes
 
yea those are not neccisarly big WUs.. Some of the 'big' ones (600 pointers and up anyone) take my boxes 3 days-ish to crunch through.

PS to OP, you should get your folding badge set up! ;)

My desktop folds those big proteins in less than a day compared to my laptop which takes 2 days. Fold On!
