Using Windows 8 License for Windows 10

Windows 10 is absolutely free for Windows 8 users. Will it be possible that, the moment MS Releases Windows 10, I can use it in HP Envy 15 laptop? Going for a fresh installation is always a better option. So I am thinking that I will replace my Laptops HDD with an SSD and then make a clean installation of Windows 10 and the use my Windows 8 License key for registration. Is it possible?

As long as the license was bought retail, and is currently activated, it appears as though you are eligible.

MS has stated a clean install will be an available option, although they have not detailed the process (yet to my knowledge)

I am not sure about my license, whether it was baught retail. But the license provided along with the purchase of the laptop, is the only the only thing that I have

Then you probably have an OEM license which is still eligible for the free upgrade in most cases as long as you don't try to transfer it to another system. (OEM licenses are non-transferable.)

The exact process for doing a clean install hasn't been detailed, but my guess is you may have to claim the upgrade from your current install of Windows 8 to get the your product key for Windows 10. After that you can probably download the Windows 10 install media and do a clean install with your new product key.

No it's not. The upgrade is free, for one year. 366 days after Win10 comes out, it's a paid product, upgrading anything or full install. So I am not sure the Win8/8.1 "just use the same key" thing will work. It's fully possible MS will email people keys, like they did when Media Center for Win8 was free (lol free Windows 8). They were upgrade-only keys.
