I was commenting in other threads about the fact that the new generation of cards are basically super computers,

Duh! Has anyone got a patch to make SETI or Folding use the vector units in the GPU for their calculations instead of the CPU? I see 10 minute data sets...
 
Wait until PCI Express. Right now, there's no good way to move data back out of the video card.

Also, are there any video cards out there that can calculate in double precision? I'd think that'd be pretty necessary for any hardcore scientific computing....
