Hello to all,

I recently bought the Techflex 'Case Mod sleeving kit'
and I was wondering if any of you have it how you managed to get the sleeving over the motherboard connector. Because I tried to remove it but without succes.

My molex were not a problem at all to remove.

Thanks

the motherboard power line is very tricky. You technically do not need a molex remover, a paperclip or small eyeglass screwdriver will do the job. But the only was to put sleeving on it to remove the entire plug from all of the wires. Be very careful when you do thins to write down, EXACTLY, the same diagram. Like make a diagram of where all the wires connect. If you need more help to remove the wires from the plug email me at x10(*at)xaqt.org

And remember, most PSU's have a double orange at the one corner. Some newer high-wattage PSU's have several wires like that.

I have a 550W PSU here that has a double orange, double red, double yellow, and double soemthing else.

Check the FAQ on the forum, most guides are right there... i.e.

Great thanks for the replies, I will try with a big needle as I can't find a molex remover in any of electronics store where I live.

The biggest problem will be to exactly mark all the wires with some kind of sticker and then to shove it all in the sleeving altough it will be thickier with the stickers.

But I'll manage;)

Still downloading the two video reviews, 50meg together.

university speed started at 500kb/s but dropped to 40kb/s,

why dont you guys stream them instead of waiting for the whole thing to be done? although i wouldnt mind saving part 1.

Has anyone thought of just bending the connector parallel with the wiring and then slipping the sleeving over it? I am not sure what size you are using. If it works, you won't have to remove the molex connector. Of course, then there is the problem of heatshrink not fitting.

There's too many wires to get it to bend tight enough. Trust me, I tried.

And you guys need to just go spend $10 or so and buy the right tool for the job. Buy yourself a square pin molex remover. Why risk breaking the wires out of the ONLY ATX connector in your computer?

My advice is buy the 10 bucks universal pin removal tool from frozencpu then use two staples for the 24 pin atx and 4 pin (intel molex I think) then small tipped screwdriver for the 4 pin(floppy molex) and 3 pin and the 6 pin molex thats what I did to fortron 300psu(gonna use it for powering up a WC setup) but on my antec 550 true control it's kind of hard to sleeve the line with the 2 sata molex because you can't remove it. Well the fortron has one sate molex but it's removable well that's all. Have fun sleeving that PSU.(me i had fun hehe:D)

Using this kit here - http://www.svc.com/coslkitbl.html - can you just stretch the sleeving and heatshrink tubing over the 4-pin molex connectors and not have to take those off? The reason its called TechFlex is because of its expandability, and i thought that you were suppost to be able to sleeve the PSU with this stuff without bothering to take off the connectors.

Well if you wanna make the PSU sleeve look sleek and tight you might want to use a 1/8 or 1/4 sleeve size and it means that's not gonna fit over those 4 pin molex connectors... but if you don't want to remove it use the 1/2 I guess but it won't look neat... I did that to two of the Antec 4 pin line coz I have no choice I do not have sata connector removal tool and It look like I really can't even if I have one coz the wires are enclosed in the sata anyways doing that the sleeve that I put on looks saggy coz it just have 4 wires in it and blah blah blah

In short take your time remove the molexes and sleeve them with the right sleeve size It's fun hehe I'd do it for you if you have the heat gun sleeving kit and PSU and you live near by me haha
