Ok, so the roommates and I just got a bunch of stereo equipment for free from THX (roomie's dad works there).

We got -
Kenwood Sovereign VR-5080 reciever
Klipsch KL-650 Ultra2 LCR (x2)
Teufel M660 Center
Teufel M900D Rear (x2)
Crappy KLH sub.

We're poor college students so we couldn't go out and get stands for everything so we've just put them in the best places we could find. One of the KL-650's is sitting on the sub because it was almost the perfect height. Is this bad for it?

here's a pic - sub with speaker on it are on the left.

Thats fine. What you have to worry about is if the speakers are shielded because that will screw up your tv. They are shielded by the way...

I've had my computer sitting on top of my 10" sub for years now.

The only think I would be concerned about is that if the subwoofer is vibrating enough that little statue might fall onto the ground and break.

Looking more closely at that picture, you may want to re-think having that dvd player on top of your receiver. Receivers tend to get pretty toasty and need ventilation. If you read the owners manual it probably says not to stack items on top and to have x amount of space open above it. May or may not be a problem down the road but it couldn't hurt.

Yeah, we don't have the manual for the reciever but I'll check it and make sure it's not getting too hot. There's plenty of ventilation around it so it shouldn't be a problem. The speakers are definitely shielded so there's no threat to the TV. Hopefully it won't be a problem having the speaker on the sub, it was free but probably worth a lot of money so good to keep it working.
