Using RivaTuner to Overclock, cant keep 2D memory at default?

Im probably missing something right in front of my face but I cant figure this out. I have my 6800 GT OC'd to Ultra speeds but I cant seem to keep my 2D memory frequency to stay at the default with Coolbits or RivaTuner. When I try to save 2D startup at default in RivaTurner I get warned "Start up settings you've made may prevent the driver from restoring desired memory clock after reboot. Do you want to correct it now?"

How do set it so 2D stays at the proper defaults at all times and the 3D performance clocks to the desired OC, without having to set it each and every time?

And while Im at it I'll guess I'll ask this as well. Is Coolbits "optimal frequencies" to be trusted? It gave me something insane like 435 core and over 1200 for the memory. Wasn't brave enough to try it out though...
