Using PS2 remote to control PC, need help / suggestions

I have a Radioshack Playstation-USB adapter and a Sony Brand Playstation 2 DVd remote. I am using Joy to Key and Launch Board to assign the key on the remote to perform certain functions and launch programs. The remote works fine, but I can only use the bottom buttons on the remote, want want to be able to use the other buttons and not just the bottome ones. Does anyone know how this can be accomplied? I know how to set the buttons to do things, I just need to know how to get the top buttons recognized.
