Specs are in my sig. I don't want to use both 280's because I would have to keep turning SLI on and off and that is a pain in my ass. I currently have folding running on the non-display SLI card. The 250 is just chilling there. Is this possible?

Just run one client (it will use the primary card) but you will never notice. Just hit pause before you go into a game (that is what we all do) then just resume when you are done playing.

The 280 will do 50% more ppd than the 250 anyways.

Can't you run with sli on now? I know you could for a while, something change again?

I already use one 280 to fold. I also have my ps3 going at the moment. What I wanted to do was run the 250 at the same time.

Yea im 90% sure you can run with SLI enabled now. I cant verify this cause i dont have an SLI system.

Point me to a link? I cannot find it anywhere.
All you have to do to fold in SLI is add the -gpu 0 and -gpu 1 flags to the two clients. Should work fine as long as you're using somewhat recent drivers. Toss in another client with -gpu 2 for your GTS 250 and you'll be kicking out some nice PPD.

I spent a few hours today trying to make that work and It never did. Copying the folders, setting paths, trying different flags. It would never let me work on more than one unit.

Sorry for the DP, but this warrents another post:

Is my PPD REALLY low for a gtx 280? I am getting 4300-4700 in FahMon. Should it not be higher than that?

Depends on the WU, but that is on the lowest I'd expect.

There is a screengrab of what is going on.

somewhat related question..

i have an ATI card for my primary. currently don't fold on it since i remote into this machine often and the PPD for the watts+temps aren't good enough.

if i picked up a nvidia GTS/GTX for phyx, can i also configure it (and only the nvidia) for folding on the side and still be able to remote into my machine? hope that makes sense :-/

I eventually got it to work on my 250. However my drivers were foobared. I did a clean driver sweep and my folding performance went up 4x to 3500 iter/s

Also, got my PPD to 7500 :D
