We are doing some renovations at the company I work for over the next few months, Part of my duties include running fibre to the back of the plant, and moving the shipping and recieving staff into a trailer. I have setup a wifi network for everyone, so that aspect of the job is done. I still have to run a RJ11 (Phone) and single CAT5 (Ethernet) into the trailer for the fax machine/laser printer/photo copier etcetc. It is imperitive that it works.
The run is a little tricky,
I found a 3com Office Connect Wireless Access point that matches with the huge 3com Wifi Antenna system I already setup.
Insted of running ethernet, Can I get away with connecting the AP to the Fax Machines ethernet and somehow configure it so that it works that way, is this possible at all or is there another device nessisary for this task?
If so, Can you guys point out what I'd need to buy to get this idea into reality?
It would be much easier not to have to worry about ethernet and just do a phone line run. since there is wifi already.
