Ok, so I followed the LCD guide in this forum (it's stickied) and got my Palm m100 to display my system stats using LCD Smartie v. 5.3. Now I need a way to keep the Palm pilot in some sort of case. Any ideas? I'm at a loss here. The thing I've been thinking is maybe making a custom plexi enclosure or something.

I saw a squirrel. It was doing like this!

I don't know what to tell you about an enclosure, I'd suggest using the orig. cradle if there was a way. This seems like a smart idea, one I'm willling to look into if I can get my hands on a cheapo backlit color palm.

If you do a custom plexi cose for the palm, you could paint the insdie of the plexi which has always been GREAT for a clean mirror-esque finish to the projects I've seen it doen, OR you could use window tinting on the inside to color the thing whatever color you like. One thing I was wondering about however...didn't your palm come with some sort of docking bay type thinger you could just leave it in? That would seem the easiest solution to me.

Totally OT but since the odds of anyone getting that reference is so small...I just wanted to stop in and say

GIR RULES!!!

Oh yeah... I got chocolate bubblegum!

It did come with a cradle. It's just the plastic thing for it broke off, so it has no support, hence the need for the enclousure.

Wow....I read this thread and have been looking for something to do with this Sony Clie I have. It works pretty good. My Clie doenst have a docking station so I am going to make a litte stand and run the wires down it and out the back. Mine has a door that flaps down over the top and is tinted but the lighted lcd shows though real nice.

I do have one question for you though. I used the max orbital settings and it displays text and all, but is there a way to utilize more of the screen. Also what are the letter buttons for and the green boxes under with unusually characters? Sorry for that, but I figured you could help.

I did see a neat setup once where a guy took and piece of thin plexi and heated it up and bent the bottom to for a stand. Then he mounted his lcd in it and set it next to the monitor. Sort of looked like it was flotaing there.

I don't think there is. I think that is the default size you have to work with. LCD Smartie has 20 screens with 4 lines of text each that you can customize. That's plenty for me. As far as increasing the size to fill up the whole screen, I haven't found a way. :( . It would be nice though. If you find out how tell me.

For that matter does anyone else know of any palm software for displaying pc info?

PalmOrb displays my PC info. Its nice to see how my pc reacts when I am playing a game, or using my tv turner card.

when i did this, i used some really strong velcro and mounted the palm on the side of the monitor. you could do this to your case also, that way you can always take it off and do PDA stuff with it.

Damn I had a Clie N760C and gave it to my brother because I wasn't using it anymore. I had a lot of trouble syncing once I upgraded to XP.
