Using MCE Guide from a different computer

My wife would like to schedule recordings from her laptop over the LAN and (bonus) over the web if possible. Is that possible with MCE or do I need a different app to accomplish this? I have TitanTV but it doesn't work with my Hauppauge HVR-2250 - or will it???

remote desktop, vnc, etc

can't say i know of an app to access the scheduler directly on the back end but it probably exists.
