Before I order cables/parts I want to make sure I get the right items...I have a GTX260 video card and will be using the DVI to HDMI adapter to run it by HDMI to my AV receiver...

For audio my motherboard has an S/PDIF header on the motherboard that can connect to my GTX260...the motherboard ALSO has 1 coax and 1 optical S/PDIF port in back...is there any positive/negative to either setup? Will audio still come out of the "main" computer's speakers at the same time or will the audio only go out to the receiver?

positive about using the spdif header to your card is that you will only need the one cable for both video and sound. Think also certain audio tracks/bit rates can only be done through HDMI.
