I have the Viewsonic vp191b and I am using the dvi cable. When I goto display and look at the available refresh rates only 60hz is listed. If I uncheck the "Hide unsupported refresh rates" I can then get 75hz. Will it hurt the lcd if I use the 75hz? Also when using the nvidia control panel I can set the refresh rate to 78hz.

You might have found out the answer already, but when you try to use a higher refresh rate than what is supported by the desktop resolution it says "Out of range" or sync or something. And you can only use rates supported by the resolution.

1074x768@100hz
1152x864@85hz
1280x960@75hz
1280x1024@75hz
1600x1200@60hz

Thoose are the max refreshrates for my monitor, yours might be similar.
