using gpedit to look down a PC

got a client who likes to play with everything in their control panel.... so i get called in for the most retarded stuff.... i am tired of it and want to implement a permanent solution. using gpedit to lock down any playing around with control panel PERIOD.

only let them add wifi networks, disconnect from a network, reconnect.

is all this stuff under the admin tab -> network and then just browse through the tabs?
 
Are you charging them for each time you visit for these issues? If you aren't....start billing them. These are the people that make you a lot of money. And if you start charging them maybe they will get the picture?

Just browse through and figure out what you want to do with gpedit. I do warn though that its very hard to figure out problems later. It is very easy to edit a setting in gpedit and forget where it is when you need to change it back or modify it.
 
If it's just one pc I would just change his account to "USERS" group. That would limit a lot of windows permissions.
 
First, I would remove admin rights...that would solve the problem.

Alternatively, there's Windows SteadyState (FKA Shared Computer Toolkit).

I've used that to build locked-down images for kiosk-type PCs for my company. Works great. It even has a feature to roll-back all changes to the drive after reboot. I think you can remove control panel options, too.
