I've used DVD-Rs for backups but I'm thinking that an external HD may be a better solution.
For one it's faster and two it holds more data. I use Nero BackItUp to do data backups onto DVD-Rs and it can span multipls discs but it does take a while to compress, write, and verify the data.
The only thing good about DVD-Rs I guess is that the data will last longer than data on a magnetic media like a HD.
Should I get an external HD encosure and buy a standard HD or should I get one of those "ready made" external HDs that don't need an enclosure ?
