Does anyone here know how to use Exact Audio Copy?
I've got a CD that's got some scuffs. If I use the "Extract and Test", I find that Exact Audio Copy will scrape the CD, then compute a 64-bit CRC for each file.
The "Read CRC" and "Test CRC" Columns in the application aren't described. Where do they come from? When they don't match, what can I do? I've found a warning that says I might have a different pressing than the one in the AccurateRip database. How do I know if my pressing is different or not? That is, how do I know if the target CRC is obtainable, or not?
I've re-read a couple of tracks, and after trying a few times, I got a matching CRC. Other tracks never match. Should I expect them to?
The "Error Correction" control (is it a bar graph?) in the ripping window never draws anything. Certainly, error correction must be happening on this badly scratched disk, right? Why doesn't that control move?
Is there a mode to cause EAC to re-read until it gets a matching CRC, or is this a manual process?
