Going to be filling my loop soon and wondering what additive to use. Seems as tho general automotive coolant is being used. My question is are most people using Dex-Cool type stuff (orange/redish) or typical green glycol. Only reason im wondering is that typically the dexcool stuff is supposed to be better for cross contaminated metals. copper w/aluminum. Or are most of you not even using coolant? being an auto tech i have loads of this stuff layin around 5yr dexcool red stuff and 3 yr Green stuff.

The reason for using the anti-freeze is for corrosion prevention... you use it at about 1:10 ratio (one part AF to 10 parts water). Wether you want the orange stuff or the green stuff is up to you. The local favorite though is Pentosin, which is blue and from VW.

I take it you work for GM? The orange stuff is a favorite there.

Actually i work for dodge and were starting to go all dex-cool style. Due to alot of aluminum being used in blocks and heads now. Id go for the VW stuff but im guessing you have to buy a gallon and i aint feelin like that LOL!
