Using ECC (Buffered) memory in a mobo that doesn't "support" it

Registered (or buffered) memory will not work in most desktop boards. I believe it will be even keyed to prevent you from installing. Unbuffered ECC may work on systems that do not officially support ECC depending on the CPU/MOBO/BIOS.
