using dual monitors?

I have a dell 2005fpw and a samsung syncmaster 712n, and I wanted to use them both with my 7800gtx, but when I try to do horozontal span it screws up the resolution on my dell...
is there anyways to do the span and have them both just display in their native res?
 
There is no way to span them and have them both be in their native resolution. However you may use dual view (TM nvidia) for instance to run dual monitors at different settings. I personally prefer this method, as I don't wish to maximize a window and have it go accross both monitors (especially if a webpage I'm looking at has text in the center).
 
I didnt see dual view, I only saw clone span horizontal and span vetical? where is this setting?
 
There should be a utility in the nvidia driver for setting up a dual display. If you go to your display properties--->settings--->advanced, and then to the tab for the video card, under desktop management there's a utility for spanning desktop across 2 monitors.

download ultramon. it does different wallpapers, screensavers, and a ton of other stuff.
 
dont know about price, but it takes up a little less then 5mb of ram, not sure about the cpu
works really well tho I think

you dont need ultramon if you use nview.

just go to desktop management>>desktops then click the Properties button. and make your changes

I kinda like having ultramon and it doesnt seem to hurt my performance in gaming any
and I really like that it extends the task bar to the other screen and adds the buttons to have the open window switch displays automaticly
