Using both IDE and SATA?

Is it possible to use both IDE and SATA drives in a single PC? I already have an IDE drive (two actually) and have a chance to get a SATA drive, however I don't know if they will work together, or how to go about slaving them etc.

Is it something which is easy/no issue, or is it something I should stay away from?

Cheers.

Yes, and sata drives are always master right now because it's only one drive to a sata channe. Also, you must have sata ports.

Yes it is. That's what I had running for quite some time before I picked up this new HDD.
