Using Auzentech drivers for Creative's XFi's?

I am looking to buy a sound card real soon, and one of the turn-offs of the Creative cards is their bloated software. Even the minimum install leaves about 4 processes running in the background (taken from a user review on another forum/thread).

Would it be possible to get CL XtremeGamer, and use the Auzentech Prelude drivers to keep things as simple and clean as possible, yet still have full use of the cards features?

There is a recent post in the Creative Labs discussion forums about doing just that. Apparently someone has assembled an Auzentech driver with a Creative INF and was able to install successfully. There should be a link to the assembled driver in the first post.

Mark.

This is the best I could find regarding your suggestion (post #7):

Speaking of the Prelude anyone else want to play around with the driver,

http://files.filefront.com/preluderar/;8461789;/fileinfo.html

and see if they can mod the INF so that it will install on a regular X-Fi (and possibly the Audigy's). Oh and FWIW the driver date and version number,

Modified Date: 5 March 2007
Version: 2.14.0001.14

DriverVer=08/13/2007, 6.0.01.1281

It looks like someone merely provided the driver and asked for help modifying the INF. Would you be able to send me a better link if there is an actual solution?
