Using ATI Tool

First off, I did search the forums first, as I figured this would be a well-traveled topic, but I didn't find out how to use/apply the ATI Tool overclock. I have the 0.0.23 release, and I have no idea how to get it to hold the overclock or apply it to games. I hit the test max core button, and it's been running and holding at one value for a while. Can anybody link me to a guide that explains all this?

Test max doesn't work really well since it will lower the mhz without waiting that the temps go down.
Use the slider and save your profile and apply (Set clocks). Cmon dude it's not that hard.

Lauch ATI-Tool. Raise the little core slider ~5pts and then raise the memory slider ~5 points. Left-Click "Set Clock". The numbers shown in the boxes are now your settings. You are OC'ed!!!!

If you want to save these settings simply Left-Click "New", put in a name, and Left-Click "OK".

Now you can simply select one of your profiles and then select "load" to change your settings to match that profile.

I wouldn't go up more than 5mhz at a time without running a test inbetween. I usually atleast run 3dmark05.

If you wish to automatically run at normal speeds when not gaming, and at higher speeds when gaming simply make sure you have a "Default" profile for normal, and a "Gaming" profile for your higher settings. Then Left-Click "settings", Select "3D-Detection" in the pulldown box. Check "3D-Detection enabled", Under "When 3D application is detected" check "Load Profile" and set the drop-down box to "Gaming". Then Under "When 3D application is closed" check "Load Profile" and set the drop-down box to "Default".

Once you feel comfortable doing all of the above then explore some of the other settings... Carefully.
