I recently built just a plain old computer (specs below) with a blu-ray drive. I have my 24" monitor (245bw) and a 40" samsung (lnt-4065) lcd in the same room. The tv is connected via a 25ft HDMI cable, and the monitor via a regular dvi cable. When connected to my PC, I use a set of Logitech 2.1 speakers. When connected to my TV, I use the TV's built-in speakers and pass sound via the HDMI cable. I am NOT interested in cloning, since the two screens are about 15 ft apart from each other, and I am NOT interested in extending my desktop. I just want to be able to swap between the two seamlessly. But this is the trouble I've run into: (1) when I switch back and forth, my resolution on my monitor is automatically downgraded to 1024 x 768 (from 1900 x 1200), and (2) my sound source doesn't automatically switch from Speakers to HDMI (or vice versa). That means there are 1-2 additional steps (and many clicks) I have to take when I switch between my output sources. This makes popping in a blu-ray a bit more cumbersome than I am used to. Does anyone know a way to create a profile or some other setup in windows where with one click or one shortcut I can switch between the two combinations of Video/Audio outputs? Thanks!
