Bought a BT numpad to map shortcuts for Gimp to and thought about using a tablet or smartphone as one.
Anyone tried something like this? Like to use it over Bluetooth or USB.

They have android apps which expose the device as a HID device (kb/joystick/etc) over usb, maybe bluetooth, too.

Ya, I see Deckboard and Macro Deck, I want to see if I can more for art tool shortcuts, maybe with a jog wheel.
I think Streamdeck has an app for mobile devices for the purpose you are looking for. Devices have to be on the same network though.

thanks, but, way too pricey. Reminds me of Optimus pads back in the day with their OLED keys.

Oh, didn't realize it was a subscription service for the app.
Ya, I wanted one of those Optimus keyboards, but $1000+ was way too much for me.
