Using adapters?

I'm planing on buying a Samsung S27A750D which only has a Displayport. My card only has Mini Displayport, HDMI and DVI. I need to be able to take advantage of the 120hz refresh rate on the LCD. I was thinking of a Displayport cable to Mini Displayport using a adapter. Will this work and still have the bandwidth to use the 120hz refresh rate?

Don't know the answer to your question, but I'm using a mini to regular displayport cable from Monoprice for my wife's laptop (mini) into my HP ZR24W (regular) as a secondary input. It works fine and was cheap to boot without an adapter.
