like a regular fan plugged into your power supply?!
most regular ac fans are designed to run off of 120 volts alternating current (ac) your computer only puts out 12 volts direct current (DC) you could plug an ac fan into your wall and put it inside your computer if the fan is small enough, but wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just buy some LED fans or something. or if you really need the airflow you can get one of those 100 cfm 120mm fans or something
With careful wiring you can easily use AC axials for case fans. An added bonus is that they can use common dimmer switches (instead of a fan controller) that add virtually no heat to your case.
Well since I have the convenionce of working in a repair shop that works on AC units. I guess I'm obligated to say that most fans in a AC are simply 12volt fans. They draw a few more amps from the power then your smaller case fans. But to push 200 CFM threw a 15cm - 20cm fan your need alot of power. Unless your case is large enough I would just stick with easyer to come by 12cm fans. While most AC units are this way not all are! Check the fan first. As they all by regulation requier you to say what kind of power is needed. Most are DC.
Make sure your power supply has enough power to handle it. The fan should have every thing you need on it. If it's not there check the technical website for the AC unit you got the fan out off. If you can not find ether. DON'T. Also remember these fans are not designed to be used in a regulated inviroment such as a computer. They were ment to go at a ruff speed.
If you can't find the technical specs or website for you AC unit post your brand and fan size in metric and I'll see if I can get you the specs. Good luck.
