I had a RAID 0 setup, one of the drives went bad.

Until that RMA comes back, I'm going to run it single drive. Problem. When I try to format with XP, it still sees it as a 160GB (from previous RAID0) drive. When it formats, it gives just says XP cannot format this drive, please restart.

This is really a headache, can anyone lend a hand?

you have to delete the raid setup in your controller before XP will see the single drive.
basically you'll be disabling raid for the time being.

That worked, thanks.

Also, what's the difference between running my SATA drive in AHCI mode or IDE mode?

Hy, i have a big problem, i hope i can get info here without a new topic :).

I have had a RAID 1 mirroring on a asus a8nsli motherboard with 2x320GB WD hard disk.

Now i sold my PC (a8nsli and so on...) and have only my two hard disk that were in raid1 on that PC.
Now i habe a outer hard disk cage for hard disks and i can put one 320GB in it and with USB on my laptop.
MY PROBLEM: windows does not see the disk. In manager it say foreign drive and i can't initialize it.
What can i do to get my files back? I need it much.

Tnx for help in advance.
