Using a laptop as a monitor?

I am interested in plugging a desktop PC into a laptop and using the laptop for the monitor. Is there even a way to do this, and if so, what do I need? Any help is appreciated! I want to get a small desktop computer to carry with me on trips (such as a shuttle) and I don't want to carry a monitor, but we always have at least three laptops, one of them being a spare. So could anyone answer my question? And one other thing, what about a TV as a monitor?
Thanks!

you'd have to have a laptop that supported video in.
im not aware of too many that do other than the newer and media-centric ones. i may be wrong and may be thinking backwards though ;)

VNC

Remote desktop

should be easy enough.
If they are not your laptops i would suggest using remote desktop

It will not be as good as one a real monitor but it should be good enough. Unless you want to play games and what not.

Well, I have not had the time to try this, so I will have to do this tonight. I have been busy messing with my new computer, but I won't talk about it here. I plan on trying to do it tonight, though.
