Using a 5.1 TV surround sound set for computer?

I have a Kirsch 5.1 K3 speaker set that I used to use for my TV surround sound and I would like to hook them up to my computer because they are crappy and I am going to be purchasing a nicer set up for my TV. My Logitech computer speakers finally died and I don't want to go out and buy a whole new set because I have this Kirsch set just sitting here. Is this even possible to do? I basically need to know what type of cables/adapters I need to accomplish this because they color of the audio ports on my computer are not red and white like on the Kirsch set.

Here is a picture of the Kirsch amp/sub combo. On a TV its as simple as hooking up the red to the red and white to the white but on a computer the colors are not white and red so I have no idea if there are adapters or cables that can allow me to do this but anyone got any ideas?

Hopefully you guys can understand wtf I am talking about but I wouldn't be suprised if you don't so ask me any questions and I will try my best to answer.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

if your soundcard has multi-channel analog output (3? 3.5mm stereo minijacks), you can get stereo minijack to rca adapters (x3 probably). Left/Right & surround left/right should be color coded properly, but for the center & sub connector you may have to experiment to figure out which is which (colors may not match).

monoprice 3.5mm to rca x3.

Also your sub looks to have more than 6 rca jacks (left, right, left surround, right surround, center, sub). What are the other jacks for?

I am using the onboard sound from an EVGA x58 LE motherboard. It has 8 channel audio.
http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=141-BL-E757-TR&family=Motherboard Family is the link to it. That cable is what I thought I needed but I wanted some other input. Basically I need to get this cable, plug it into the FL & FR jacks on the sub/amp and plug it into the black jack in my sound card/onboard sound? If I were to get another one of these cables, I would plug it into the C & SW jacks on my sub and find out which jack on my soundcard is the one that supports center/subwoofer?

And the other jacks are an MP3 and an Aux.

Thanks for the reply and hopefully you can understand this...

according to the online manual for your mobo:
Green is the front left/right
Orange is center/sub
Black is rear left/right
Grey is side left/right (for 8 channel mode)
pink is mic-in
blue is line-in

The color coding i mentioned was the red/white keying on the RCA end of the cables. For the left/right (and rear left/right) connections it should be correct, but for center/sub i dont know which is red/white on the splitter cable.

You can buy these cables almost anywhere. You could buy 1 to test all the connections with, then more after you are satisfied it will work. Or monoprice is wickedly cheap so you could get all 3 and shipping probably costs more than the cables.

Awesome thanks a lot for the help I will stop by Fry's or Radio Shack on the way home and test it out. Hopefully it works it would save me some money.

Thanks again I appreciate it.
