I'm modding a rather old case and the back does not support fans. I am going to make it support fans but there is no easy way of doing this unless I use 70mm fans. I plan on these being Panaflo 70mm's. My rig is all air cooled and everything is O'Clocked, how much will it hinder the system using 2 fans at 70mm rather than 80mm standard fans?

It will probably be louder that's about it. If you find a couple with a good CFM then it should work about the same. Remember smaller fans usually = more noise. As far as cutting them I would convert the 70MM to inches and go buy a holesaw and cut it out that way.

for the same cfm rating, yes.
Not to mention, the 120mm noise is a bit less obnoxious.

SVC sells fan size adapters so you can stick big fans in small holes and vice versa, if that helps at all.

I dont think that would work because there is width allowed for a 70mm fan. There is room to the left of that however to the right of that space is all the I/O for the motherboard, so the fan would have to be shifted to the side. I dont think they make an adapter like that.
