Hi, I need to use two monitors from one DVI-D (Radeon), basically instead of having to switch and unplug each, anyone have any suggestions, I thought of a video source applifier but perhaps theres a more cost effective solution. My computer is in a bad position, and thus I would like to avoid having to unplug a monitor and replug another in. Both monitors run in different resolutions, and thus I would like to avoid sending the same signal to both, just want a way to switch between them without losing quality.

Again I am not trying to connect two pcs to one monitor ala kvm, etc, I am looking to do the opposite, two monitors into one pc :p, I would like the "solution" to be able to output 1080p, ie 1920x1080 resolution. And be as cheap as possible.

Yea, I have 2 Radeons in crossfire, unfortunately running out of monitor space, All 4 DVI's are taken . I thought of getting a Matrox, or a FireGL, but this is my gaming machine. So I figured the best would be cloning one of the signals to this monitor, or switching. I don't need all 4 monitors on, when using the other one. I just don't want to unplug a monitor, etc etc.

This seems like a solution,

but theres no reviews and doesn't support 1080p.

I found this but it makes my wallet cry :(

Gefen Ext-dvi-144 1x2 Dvi Splitter

With this splitter, you'll be sending the same image/signal to both monitors.

So I think you'll need to get a video card with dual dvi ports or another video card.

HDMI switch for $18.50

I'd say buy new DVI-HDMI cables ($3.95 - $6.70) for 6ft to 15ft lengths (the cheap 28awg should be fine for those short distances even with the splitter while doing 1080p)
http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10231 (bottom of page)
since the adapters are nearly the same price ($3.30-3.60), would be more impediments in the path, and may or may not fit into the back of the switch side by side by side (see large pic on HDMI Switch product page)
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10419&cs_id=1041902&p_id=2080&seq=1&format=2

So splitter plus 3x 6ft DVI-HDMI cables = $30.35 + S/H
