Hi guys. I'm currently contemplating on purchasing a 2nd WRT54G router with dd-wrt as a 2nd wireless repeater in the house. Just wondering if this would be possible. Current setup is Main router (D-Link DIR-615) on 3rd floor > WRT54G as wireless repeater on 2nd floor. I don't mind the loss of connection speed since the main purpose is to increase coverage to the 1st floor. Thanks!

Yes you can do this. Also if you can run it as an additional AP and run ethernet to it you will not lose any speed. If you use it as an actual repeater then it cuts speed in half.

Exactly the answer I was looking for. I'm fine with the decrease in speed as long as there is still internet coverage downstairs when I work on the car. Also would I be setting up the 2nd wireless AP the same way as I did for the 1st wireless AP?

Yes, if you make both AP's have the exact same settings, SSID, security, etc, then your devices can 'roam' between them.
