User switching in XP causes crashing

hey everyone... i have a problem that is very annoying. i am running windows xp pro and i have 2 user accounts. one is mine, one is my bro's. both are system admins. mine runs fine and without a problem of any sort. his however is the problematic one. basically what happens is that when he logs onto his name, he can use it problem free.. its when you go to log off or switch user, thats where problem comes up. what happens when one of the 2 is chosen? nothing. it doesnt do a thing. the log of windows window disappears and nothing else happens. it doesnt switch over or log off at all.. just as if it was never done. i thought that after deleting his user account and creating a new one for him, i'd fix the problem, but i was wrong. what is goin on and how can this be fixed?
