Hey guys,

I'm getting my Soundblaster Live! External in today (so I can actually get 5.1 sound), and I was wondering which of the huge amount of creative programs that it comes with is actually useful. The drivers, of course, but beyond that I'd like to keep my laptop fairly clean of useless programs...

So are therr any of the extra programs that I should install?

You should be fine with these:

I usually just install the latest drivers......go to the website. I use the same stuff as Mr.kleo there. Unless you're way into music most of the stuff is redundant. I dont even think the diagnostics are that helpful.
 
You can go with less (remove the diagnostics) however if you want to adjust speaker/Equalizer/surround etc... you need all of what I suggested. None of the above use any resources or run in the background, to all his own.
